A beautiful day and Karis' first hair cut
Today was a gorgeous day! We were up early, as usual, and ran errands. Then Karis, BJ, and I went to Camden. BJ had to tutor, so Karis and I played in the park and outdoor theater.
You can see that Karis was having a great time. Besides playing with the branches...
and climbing on the rocks, Karis and I met up with a couple little girls and their mom that we have become acquainted with since we've been going to the Camden Library every Saturday. The elder of the two girls, one's four and the other 15 months, was flying a kite. What a great day to fly a kite. Karis loved watching Addie and the kite.
After playing with the girls Karis and I walked down to the harbor and watched the ducks. Karis kept pointing and saying "Kack, Kack, Kack!" She was SO excited when one of the ducks approached us, hoping we had some food. We then walked over to the waterfall. While I held Karis and watched the water, Karis watched a gull land next to us on the stone wall. The new Word of the Day is "Gull!"
After BJ's student canceled the session, we went home for lunch. It was almost impossible to get Karis and the dogs inside. After lunch, I commented that with Karis' hair in pigtails I could see where her bangs should be. BJ has been eager to have Karis' hair cut, and quickly handed me the scissors. After some persuasion, I cut Karis' hair. I think the bangs are a little short, but I had to move quickly. I only cut bangs. She doesn't really have enough hair to cut anything else, but her bangs were really getting in her way. She looks like a little girl now. I guess she isn't a baby anymore.
